HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Josh Kross (Cincinnati) lined a one-out single into left field with one out in the ninth inning to propel the Holly Springs Salamanders to a 3-2 walk-off win over the Asheboro Zookeepers on Sunday night at Ting Stadium.

Holly Springs (22-23 / 11-10) scored their first runs in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, thanks to a Cam Verrier (Keiser) RBI groundout followed by a wild pitch that plated Brandon Garcia (Lynchburg) to tie the game.

With the game deadlocked in the bottom of the ninth, the Salamanders got a lead-off single Mika Petersen (Brown) and after he was bunted to second base, Garrett Pennington (NC State) lined a base hit which put a pair of runners on for Kross, who had the walk off RBI single.

Chandler Williford (1-0, Campbell) earned the win after pitching an exceptional ninth inning with no runs and leaving the bases loaded.

The Salamanders will have a three-day break before heading back to Ting Stadium on Thursday, August 3rd to face the Morehead City Marlins. It will be the final Bark in the Park for the season and the first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be found on salamandersbaseball.com.
