Bio

2022 was Valder’s first season as the Salamanders assistant coach. After 25 years of coaching high school baseball locally, Valder brings his vast experience to the staff as he works with the hitters and overall team management. As a head coach, Valder had 11 out of 12 winning season, culminating with finishing runner-up in the 2018 Eastern Regionals.

In addition, Valder was also the manager and athletic officer of the Apex American Legion baseball program for 22 years. In his time as a coach, Valder has coaches over 50 collegiate players, and about 12 players that were drafted.

Valder is currently the assistant coach at Durham Jordan High School, where they have finished first in their conference the past two years.

Valder lives in Apex with his wife, and two boys.
