The Salamanders fell to the Wilmington Sharks tonight in a 14-5 loss. Logan Lee started out strong in a three up three down top of the first.

A Ryan Picollo putout to right field advanced Josh Kross to put the first run on the board in the bottom of the second.

Connor Powell hit a single RBI to bring home Stephen DiTomaso in the top of the third to tie the score up at one.

The top of the sixth was huge for the Sharks with seven runners batted in. The bases stayed loaded with multiple walks and two pitching changes for the Salamanders.

A sacrifice fly from Josh Kross in the bottom of the sixth brought in Braden Durham for Salamanders and Nate Carriere scored off a Win Johns single RBI to advance the score, 8-3.

The top of the seventh brought five more runs for the Sharks after a two-run single RBI from Cam Hassert and then a run from Hassert off a wild pitch. Another RBI single from Owen Petrich brought another run for Wilmington and a sacrifice fly from Lucas Johnson brought the score to 13-3.

A home run from Ty Torti and a single RBI from Michael Quinones early in the bottom of the seventh brought in two more runs for Holly Springs but could not keep up with the Sharks momentum. The final score from Ting Stadium was 14-5, Sharks win.

The Salamanders are back at Ting Stadium tomorrow for a matchup against the Tri-City Chili Peppers at 5:40pm.
