HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- The Salamanders scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back as they shut out the South Wake Shakes, 8-0 on Sunday night at Ting Stadium.
A Ryan Picollo (St. Joseph’s) home run in the third inning added to the Holly Springs (13-16) lead and six more runs in the game sealed the win for Brian Rountree and the Salamanders.
Zach Horwith (1-0, Fort Scott CC) earned the win tonight after starting the game pitching three innings, allowing one hit and striking out six.
The Salamanders will travel to High Point tomorrow, July 10 to face the Hi-Toms as they head back into CPL play.
