HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- The Salamanders were defeated tonight by the Marlins in a high scoring 14-8 loss. Holly Springs could not keep up with Morehead City after a six-run fourth inning from the Marlins.

The offense was there tonight from the Salamanders (12-15) with a home run from Ben Lumsden (West Virginia), Ryan Picollo (St. Joseph’s) and Austin Hawke (Wake Forest), however the defense is what handed the Marlins (18-9) the win tonight. Morehead City ended the night with fourteen runs, sixteen hits, and no errors.

Devyn Terbrak was the winning pitcher for Morehead City after four innings pitched allowing five hits, four runs, and striking out five.

Holly Springs will travel to Beaver Field to take on the Boone Bigfoots tomorrow, July 7 before heading back to Ting Stadium on Saturday, July 8 for a matchup against the Tri-City Chili Peppers.
