HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Nolan Watson hit two home runs for the Salamanders that contributed to their 6-0 shutout against the South Wake Shakes on Saturday night in Ting Stadium.

Six runs scored by Cam Verrier (Keiser), Nolan Watson (2, Dayton), Christian Schmidt (Emory & Henry), Leo Giannoni (Columbus State), and Jacob Coffin (Penn State) secured the win and gave some Holly Springs (9-4/20-18) pitchers an at bat.

Zach Horwith (Wabash Valley College) pitched five exceptional innings with six strikeouts and earned the win for the Salamanders.

The Salamanders were a split squad with half the team playing in Asheboro but will be back in Ting Stadium on Sunday night to face the Zookeepers. Bring your holiday spirit as it is Christmas in July night, and tickets can be found on salamandersbaseball.com.
