HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Holly Springs took a win tonight in an exhibition game against the South Wake Shakes. After a six run sixth inning, the Salamanders never looked back and took a victory, 11-3.
Parker Morgan (LSU-Eunice) was the winning pitcher tonight after three innings pitched, allowing one hit, no walks, and striking out four.
Runs brought home by Carlos Pena (Missouri), Jack Winsett (Rider), Gavin Troutman (Radford), Nolan Watson (Dayton), Austin Hawke (Wake Forest), and Andrew Grande (Walters State CC) gave the Salamanders a leg up in the bottom of the sixth and the Shakes could not catch up.
The Salamanders are on the road tomorrow, July 3 in Wilmington to face the Sharks in a CPL matchup and then will head to Asheboro on Independence Day for a 7:00 p.m. first pitch against the Zookeepers.
