HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Holly Springs takes the lead in the Eastern division after shutting out the Wilson Tobs, 4-0 on Sunday night at Ting Stadium.
Christian Keel (W, 2-1, Brown University) pitched an incredible six innings with no runs, allowing two hits and striking out nine to earn the win for the Salamanders (20-16 / 9-3).
The first runs of the night came off a two-run double from Henry Koehler (Davidson). A double from Jack Winsett (Rider) in the eighth drove Nolan Watson (Dayton) home for the fourth and final run.
Additionally, the Holly Springs bullpen was lights out working a combined three innings without surrendering a hit and fanning four to pitch the fourth shutout of the season for the Salamanders.
Josh Kross (Cincinnati), Ryan Picollo (St. Joseph’s), and Leo Giannoni (Columbus State) are the trio of Salamanders headed to Lexington County on Tuesday for the All-Star game. The Salamanders return to CPL play as they travel to Wilson to take on the Tobs Thursday night.
