HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Home runs from Cam Verrier and Caiden Chilausky propelled the Salamanders to 7-0 shutout win over the South Wake Shakes on Friday night at Ting Stadium.
A three-run homer from Cam Verrier that brought home Jordan Ardoin and Christian Schmidt gave the Salamanders an early lead in the bottom of the third.
In the sixth inning, Holly Springs added on with a triple from Cole Zak followed by a Caiden Chilausky home run that sealed the deal for Brian Rountree and the Salamanders.
Zach Horwith pitched an exceptional five innings with one hit, no runs, and five strikeouts to earn the win.
The Salamanders are back in Ting Stadium Saturday night for a double header against the Wilmington Sharks with the first pitch of game one slated for 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available at salamandersbaseball.com.
