HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C.- Cole Zak hit a home run in the second inning that spring boarded Holly Springs to a 6-4 win over Peninsula on Friday night at Ting Stadium.
The Salamanders (23-24/12-11) scored a pair of runs in the fourth that gave them a one run lead that they never lost.
Leo Gianonni (W, 3-1, Columbus State) earned the victory for Holly Springs pitching a pair of shutout innings.
The Salamanders will travel to Colonial Heights to take on the Tri-City Chili Peppers in their last Coastal Plain League matchup of the season, before heading back to Ting Stadium to play the South Wake Shakes on Sunday night.
