The Holly Springs Salamanders informed the Coastal Plain League today of its intention to not participate in the 2020 season.  The growing daily cases of Covid-19 in Wake County and the uncertainty of capacity limits in large venues going forward were important factors.

“The Salamanders are saddened and frustrated to not be able to share baseball games with our fans this season,” Salamanders General Manager Chip Hutchinson said. “We appreciate the work the Coastal Plain League has done during this difficult time, but we felt this was the best decision for the health and safety of our fans, players, and staff.  Also thank you to the Town of Holly Springs leadership for the support and guidance.  We now turn our energy to preparing for the 2021 season.
